Playing in the Backyard

The kids have so much fun playing outside even though the weather is in the triple digits! They're growing up so fast! Porter always grabs my hand and says, "Play me!" He wants me to play outside with him. Madison loves wearing dresses and playing with the dog. Porter found Dad's hat and didn't want to take it off.

Jayley stayed with us...

...for just one night. The kids loved her. They followed her around like her little shadows. She is such a big help to have around. She took care of the baby and the twins with me--including changing a couple of dirty diapers. I wish we could keep her all of the time. I asked Porter and Madison if we should keep Jayley and Porter said "Yes!"

Feeding the Babies

I found Porter and Madison in my bed and asked them what they were doing. They said they were feeding their babies.
Porter can't get enough of Lane. It's hard keeping him off of him. He loves to dote on him. It's very cute.

Pics of kids

Here is everyone sleeping. (Above--Porter and Madison. And, below, Lane.) They are so sweet when they're asleep. Lane loves the blanket Mom got for him. It's very soft and he loves to hold onto it. He'll probably be like Madison who won't give up the blanket Mom gave her when she was a baby. The other day I asked her if we could buy her a new blanket and she got teary-eyed and said, "No." I said this one is so dirty and old. She would just say no and shake her head.

Porter took his shorts off and put them on his head. He thought he was very funny.Madison and Porter hug and kiss each other throughout the day on their own. They really are like little best friends. They cuddle next to each other to sleep too.

Oh no...

Porter and Madison were having a hard time going down for their nap today. I had gone downstairs and then came back up to check on them. I opened there door and found Porter laying on his back in the "getting his diaper changed" position. He had his diaper off, and Madison was sitting right there with the handi-wipes and a new diaper. She was trying to clean him off.

The only problem was he had pooped his diaper. It looked like he had used their little Porta Potty that we keep in their bedroom. We always walk the contents to the toilet and flush it. Apparently, they had tried to dispose of it too, but weren't sure where to put it. As a result...there was fecal evidence in various places of the room. Madison was smart enough to touch everything with a handi-wipe in her hand. Porter went straight to it and had some of the evidence on his hands.

I jumped in to finish the diaper with Porter and started to clean up the worst of it. Madison grabbed a handi-wipe and picked up the "big ball" that had fallen onto the floor. I couldn't believe how much she did all by herself. She didn't quite have the skills, but boy was she trying.

Aside from the "chitty chitty bang bang," they have been doing well. They are still mischievious, but I think it's because they are unsupervised too much. I get tied up with Lane and they run amuck.

Lane is still very good although he likes to wake up for a couple of hours during the night. He's usually happy--just a little fussiness--but wide awake. He started holding his head up and is very alert to voices. His eyes are still very blue. I hope they stay! They're very pretty. So far he still has a lot of dark hair and a cute little pug nose like Kimberly. He has the same chin Jake (Lane) had when he was a baby. He definitely carries the Lane gene.

I am a little run down with three babies under the age of 2! Sometimes they really work me over. Especially when they are all hungry and need their diapers changed. It's keeping me busy and they are definitely worth it.

More baby pics...

The kids are doing great with Lane. They always want to hold him and are very helpful, but are sometimes too rough around him. He's getting bigger already and is still a very sweet baby.

Special Treat

Brant bought be a spa gift certificate as a gift for having a baby. It was so nice I thought, "I should have babies more often...nah, not a good enough trade." But, it was very nice. I got a manicure, pedicure (never have had that before), and European facial. Plus, facial, hand, and foot massage. It was really nice. Especially because Brant had all 3 kids! I fell asleep in the chair right after my pedicure. I think sleep comes so easily, that's the best break of all.

Brant has been so good at helping me with the kids. He lets me take naps on the weekends and still takes Porter and Madison to the park every Saturday. In church, I don't have to do anything with the kids. He keeps them sitting very reverently during Sacrament Meeting. No small task, but he's very good with them. I'm glad they are learning to behave during church. I just wish church was not during their regular nap time.

The terrible twos are coming early

Porter and Madison have always done everything a little early, so it doesn't surprise me that they are peaking into the Terrible Two stage early. Last week they really pushed me to my limits. I had to give myself time-out a couple of times just to keep from strangling them. Let's see. I'll just list some of the things they did. They got into the vaseline jar and kindly helped to grease each other up from head to toe. It was so bad, I couldn't get it off of them. The bathtub ended up being coated with it as well. I used body soap, shampoo, and Brant's de-greasing agent from work. They looked like little grease heads for a couple of days because I couldn't get it out of their hair. I almost slipped and broke my neck in the shower because it was still all over.

They got into a box of styrofoam packing and broke it all into pieces. I can't even remember everything else they did. I think I have been blocking it out already.

Lane is recovering from his circumcision. He actually healed really quickly.

There is going to be a seminary reunion for the Class of 1988 during the 4th of July weekend. Everyone is invited to attend--if they want to. They have an open invitation to anyone who wants to come and visit.

Lane's birth announcement

I haven't had much time to update my blog. Here is the birth announcement for Lane. He had his newborn checkup yesterday. He weighed 8' 6". He is such a good baby. He sleeps alot. He has started staying awake a little bit more. He is a mix between Porter and Madison. He smiles alot, but also has Madison's serious face and furrowed brow.

Just stuff...

I am so excited to be getting closer to the delivery date. I can't wait! Only 5 more days to go. I am feeling so miserable. It hurts to be on my feet or walk around and worst of all is going up the stairs. Plus, the kids want me to hold them and there's no room in my lap. I look forward to the physical relief of having the baby. I know there will be more stuff to do, but it is so nice to get your body back. Other than that...I feel great!

Porter and Madison are getting better every day. They are learning to speak more and they love watching Signing Time. I started recording it so they can watch it whenever they want. Madison especially loves learning signs. I am so impressed by how much they can pick up. They have both taken to tantrums occassionally. We have started putting them in their room when they throw one. They are very happy little children. They're so fun to have around. Porter will run through a room, point at me, and say, "Wuv you!" He is still a little cuddle bug that likes to be held, loved on, kissed, and cuddled. Madison is much more pragmatic. She kisses when she feels like it and doesn't always like me to hold her.

They both get very excited when Dad gets home. Brant is so good with them. They love him to death. Even though he is more strict than I am, he is their favorite playmate. Porter always asks him, "Want to fight!" And then, they wrestle and play fight.

Twin Pics

We took the kids in for their first dentist appointment today. I was so glad that they did not have any cavities--or signs of enamel rot! The dentist said, "Mothers of twins always seem to take such good care of their kids teeth." I was kind of laughing thinking I haven't done that well--it must just be good genes. They were both really good during their checkups. Madison got a little irritated at the end.

Tomorrow is Brant's birthday so the kids are giving him photos of themselves for their gift. I am using the photos above. I am going to put touch them up in Photoshop and make them look a little more professional.

Viewing Titanic Exhibit

Brant took me to view the Titanic Exhibit for a Mother's Day date. It was so cool. I loved it. They had alot of the stuff on display, which of course was antiques. I enjoyed looking at everything and reading about all of the people and their lives. It was like studying genealogy. They gave us each a ticket before we boarded the ship. We had the names of actual passengers who sailed on the Titanic. It gave a brief history of their life and why they were on the Titanic. Also, if they were 1st class, 2nd, 3rd, etc. At the end of the tour, you found out if you lived or died. It was very interesting.

Only 12 days left...

I am counting down the days. We have scheduled the delivery for May 21st at 11 am. I am so ready! It will be very fun to have him outside of my belly as opposed to inside! I am experiencing all of the last month symptoms and cannot wait!

Last night Rhonda took all of her daughters and me to Claim Jumper. It was really fun to get out although it is a pain to have to move around being this pregnant. The food was really good. The guys all stayed home and tended kids. Next week is Father's and Sons so they will all be gone for the weekend. Brant is going to take Porter. I think they'll have a lot of fun.
