"Aunt" Ida Tenney visits

Last night, Ida Tenney, her daughter Leann, and her son-in-law, came by to visit Mead and Geneva's family. I grew up in Page, knowing her as "Aunt Ida" so it was a treat to get to visit with her and to let her see my kids. Lane, of course, was already asleep. Madison instantly called her "Mi-Ma" (her version of Grandma). She is so spry and healthy--she is a good example to all of us. It was really neat to see her.

Pizza! Pizza!

We made homemade pizza Saturday night. I made the dough and sauce from scratch and then let the kids make their own pizzas. Madison put a little bit of everything on it. Porter put one mushroom on his with lots of pepperoni and ham. He's a big meat lover.

Pics of Porter

Porter is so mischievous. He loves getting into things--especially water. He turns on the hose in the backyard all of the time. He plays in the watering system for the plants. He has poured water all over the floor after getting it out of the water dispenser on the referigerator. He likes to dump water anywhere and everywhere. He does have a tender heart and gets his feelings hurt easily. He likes to wrestle and fight and tease.

Pics of Madison

\Madison is such a cute little girl with a lot of spunk! She is very proud of her blue eyes and tells everyone she has blue eyes. She is very good with both of her brothers. She's tough and bossy to Porter, and sweet and motherly to Lane. The other day she was mad at Porter for taking her shoe. Aundra went and grabbed it from Porter and gave it to Madison. Porter started crying because Aundra took the shoe from him. Instead of being thankful to Aundra for getting her shoe, she turned on her and started shaking her finger and telling her "No!" because she made Porter cry. Then she went and told on Aundra, saying "Aundra did it!"

Labor Day at the Water Park

We took the kids to a Waterpark in Henderson. They had such a blast. It was fun watching them run through the water. The temperatures were nice too...only 92 degrees. It has started to cool down, although we still have a week full of 100+ temps. I'm sure it will be really mild in October. Grandma and Grandpa Smith joined us with their daughter Heather after we had been there for an hour or so. Also, Mead, Geneva, Aundra, Jantzen, and Cambry Tenney.

Take Me Out To the Ball Game

We took Madison and Porter to their first baseball game. We left Lane home with Grandma. They really enjoyed it. Madison was yelling and clapping and watching the game. She was much more into the game than Porter. Must be her Grandma Mimi's genes in her. She would yell and point, "Hit Beece-ball!" Then she would clap as soon as they hit it. Porter fell into the bleacher and now looks like he got hit on the side of his cheek. Brant bought them a baseball necklace, a pink hat, a wooden baseball bat, and a miniature wooden baseball bat. They had a blast. I wore out before they did. Brant got the tickets from Yesco. We were also able to take Grandpa Smith, Uncle Mead, Aundra, and Jantzen.

Which Five Do You Belong To?

I read a quote today. It said, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time of your time with." I thought, "Wow!" There's five in our family: Me, Brant, Madison, Porter, and Lane. Here is an interesting average of our group: We are approximately 13 1/2 years old; we can't read or write very well; we have attended little or no schooling; and our average weight is 91 pounds.

Carnival at the Church

Some members of our ward have a carnival business. They setup a little carnival in the Cultural Hall for the kids. It was so much fun. Well, the kids had fun at least. They were like "kids in a candy store." There was a jumping gym, clowns, balloon animals, cotton candy, face painting (which we decided not to do because we didn't want to have to clean them up), popcorn, train ride, etc. Wayne and Rhonda laughed that they were the oldest people there. We have a young ward with LOTS of little kids. The kids were a little afraid of the train ride. It was out in the parking lot and they had these cars made out of barrels connected together. It was pulled by one of the guys on a 3-wheeler. Porter was "white-knuckling" the side of the car. Madison just wasn't sure what it was all about. We told her to wave to us when she went by and she thought that was fun. Porter would not let go to wave. His hands were in the same position at the end. The train actually stopped to let more kids on and Porter didn't hesitate to jump out. When Madison saw him get out she decided to get out too.

By the way, they are wearing clothes Vicki bought for them recently. They were so cute! Thanks Vicki. Madison is absolutely in love with pink. She was ecstatic with the shirt. The pink pants are actually from Jaden, so even though they aren't new they're still from Vicki.

I'm An American Idol

When you start singing a song to your little baby and his eyes light up, he grins, and squirms with glee, it makes you feel like a Rock Star. Lane loves the sound of my voice. It's awesome.

Journaling

I finally got the crib set up this weekend. I was waiting for Brant to do it, because I'm not very good at putting things together. He said it was missing pieces so he couldn't finish. Plus, he worked 12-16 hour days all last week. I finally decided I was going to put it together to figure out which pieces we needed. The only thing that ended up missing was the screws that hold it together. We had some around the house that fit, but were too long. I used them anyway. I thought they would work until I can get the right size. I was very proud of myself that I figured out how to put it together. Brant was surprised too. I have to thank Bobbi for the crib. It was awesome to get that. My visiting teacher gave me the bedding and pictures. They were from Pottery Barn and have really nice colors. It matches our room.
Madison's eye cleared up. The picture above was the third day she had a black eye. I think that's when it looked the worst.
Brant has been working alot of overtime this past week. He is helping to certify some people to for Crane operation.
Porter's new thing is to ask "Why" everytime I tell him something. He's very inquisitive. I have been jumping on the trampoline in the backyard with them. I was jumping with them last night and I think I popped my hip. I was trying to show them some tricks. We like to lay on it and wait for airplanes to fly by. Madison's favorite color is Pink. Porter likes Red and Orange.

More of Rocky this morning

Madison's eye was even more swollen this morning. It looks worse in person, than it does on the camera. Poor baby!

Madison "Rocky" Hibbard

Yesterday was a wonderful terrible two's times two day! I had to empty a toilet that had been stuffed with wash clothes, hand towels, toys, and paper. Then they decided to celebrate Mardi Gras by throwing corn all over the counter, floor, and rest of the room. They also tried to help me clean the kitchen by taking all of the dishes off of the counter and throwing them on the floor. In an attempt to keep them busy without making any more messes, I sent them to the backyard to play. Porter promptly found the hose and soaked himself and Madison. (Both of whom I had just dressed.) This was all they had time to do because they spent the rest of the day in time out.To finish of the day, they propped the crib mattress up against an end table that has legs with sharp corners. As Madison was climbing up it, it fell and she slammed into the corner. Her eye was bleeding and swelling so quickly I couldn't tell if it was cut open. I discovered that it wasn't, but it was enough to make her look like a prize fighter.

Brushing teeth at the end of the day

They are actually getting pretty good at brushing their teeth--after they suck off all of the bubblegum toothpaste! They were both sharing their stool so they could reach the countertop.

Making Homemade Ice Cream for FHE

For Family Home Evening last night, Brant did all of the planning. We decorated a birthday card for their Grandpa Smith. (Yesterday was his birthday.) And then we made homemade ice cream. The kids loved it. They aren't the most coordinated when it comes to dispensing ingredients, but they had so much fun. When Brant was putting the machine together and then started it up, they started clapping and saying, "We did it! We did it!" They were amazed when ice cream came out of the tub. They love ice cream, they have since the first time they tried it. If they see someone on TV eating or talking about ice cream, they'll say, "Ice cream good, Mommy."

More of Lane...

Here are more pics of Lane. He grows so fast. I think I took pictures of the twins every day and haven't done as much with him. Mostly because the twins are keeping me so busy! This last week at least one of the three have woke up at 4:30 a.m. I was so happy this morning that both twins were sound asleep and their diapers were not full. (I got up when Brant got up and checked on them.) Just as I was snuggling back into bed, Lane woke up with that quick, happy smile he always has. I tried to get him back to sleep, but could not. He finally drifted off around 6 a.m....and then the twins woke up.

In the pics, Lane is wearing an outfit Mom got for him. It was supposed to be a 0-3 months, but it was huge when he was born. It's still very big on him. It must be the size, because he's worn some outfits that are 6 months and he is not small for his age. Mom bought Porter and Madison matching outfits. I'll have to get a pic of all three of them in it. Lane is also on the blanket that Mom made for his blessing. It was so pretty! I love having special blankets for each of them.

I think that Lane looks alot like Vicki's baby pictures. The eyes, dimples, and that big smile. What does everyone else think? BTW, his eyes are still blue.
