Brant and I had to teach Rhonda's Valiant Girls Class. It was really fun and a nice break from our regular meetings. We only had two girls in the class, so it was not as easy to teach. Brant did a hang-man to start the class and to give them a few clues about the lesson. I told him I didn't do so well on the lesson--thinking he'd say it wasn't TOO bad. He said, "Well, there's always next time." I was surprised and said, "Was it that." He said he thought it was a little over their heads. In Primary we had to stand at the front of the room while they sang to us--because we were new in Primary. Having kids gives you a whole new appreciation for those Primary teachers. They do such a great job. The girls told us the Valiant Boys were across the hall--Brant thought they said they were the Violent Boys.
Lane is growing so fast. He is such a happy baby, but has a little bit of a temper. He's very strong-willed when he wants something.

Kids Say the Darndest Things
I wanted to write down some of the cute things that Porter and Madison have said recently.
Madison wanted me to get her some juice. I tried to explain to her that I was putting Lane to sleep and I would do it as soon as I was done with him. I emphasized that "Mommy only has two hands." Madison held up her hands and said, "I only have two hands."
* * * * * * *
When Brant was playing with Porter, he put him on his feet and boosted him up in the air. Porter was laughing at being so high in the air. He had an excited shriek as he said laughing, "I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die." I have no idea where he picked up that phrase.
* * * * * * *
Porter came running into my room this morning at 5 a.m. saying, "Mom, I woke up! I'm awake!" He had a big smile on his face.
* * * * * * *
I was changing Porter's diaper and had just fixed my hair. I said, "Porter, do you like Mommy's hair? Is it pretty?" He said, "Yes. Kim cut hair." Then he ran his fingers through his hair and said, "Mommy, my hair. Pretty? Kim cut my hair too."

Lane as he grows
Lane has started sleeping for 4 hours at night before waking up. He is such a dream--especially after the twins. He is still very happy but has a few tantrums when he gets his mind set to something. Notice that left hook he's working on? I am guessing he is a Sanguine (Yellow) and Choleric (Red) personality type. That's like a combination of Travis and Jayley. Happy, jokster, center of attention, but large and in charge. For instance, sometimes he doesn't want to feed off of my right breast and will yell until I put him on the left. He loves having his diaper off. He can be in the biggest fit and I take his diaper off and he is all smiles. Lane is so sweet. He will coo and talk to you for several minutes before he goes back to sleep. He's very sweet. He is a perfect blend of Porter and Madison at his age. I look at their pictures and see so much of both of them. He has Madison dark hair and blue eyes, but Porter mouth, nose, and chin. He would have been a better match as a twin to either one of them, but I guess this way he will bring them all together.
Madison loves to shadow me all day. Porter will play with Aundra and Jantzen, while she follows me around. She is starting to get a little bossy and gets mad when I tell her know. Sometimes she kicks at me from a distance with a very mean look on her face. I put her in time out and tell her to calm down. She is definitely going to have a temper. She fell in love with Jake (Lane) when him and Amber were here last week. For two days after he was gone she kept asking me, "Mom! Where's Jake?" She stills like to do sign and now does it to show off. She is also learning her colors. It's hit and miss. Although she is getting better at them. She is great with Lane. She still gets diapers and handi-wipes for me. She gets too close to his face. Lane lights up when he hears her voice.
Porter is all boy. He loves to rough and tumble. He knows he's only supposed to rough-house with Dad, but sometimes gets carried away with me. He head-butted me in the nose the other day. It hurt so bad. I had to explain to him not to do that! When Jake was here, he would toss them on the bed one at a time. Jake kept going higher and higher with Porter because Porter seemed to like it. At one point, it was too much for him and when he got off the bed he commanded Jake, (with his hand held like a "stop" sign) "Jake, no hard! Jake no hard!" It was so funny. Porter never wants to go to bed at night. He's so busy having so much fun. But, he also doesn't like to get up in the morning. He lays in bed for awhile and will sometimes fall back to sleep. He also takes a much longer nap than Madison.

Tub Time
The twins are so in love with Lane. They want to do everything with him. I tried to give him a bath and they both wanted to get in. So we filled up the tub around Lane's tub. They are learning to "be soft" with him. They both give him kisses all of the time.
He's had a little cold lately, but is still a really good baby. He only wakes up during the night to eat and go right back to sleep. So much easier than the twins who woke up, ate, stayed up, and I had to work to put them back to sleep. If he would have been my first, I would have gotten so much sleep. Lane wakes up for about half an hour between 4 and 5 am. I just get back to sleep and the twins come bounding in--usually between 5:30 and 6 a.m.
Porter has been speaking in complete sentences. The time I really noticed it was when he said, "I wanna sleep in Mommy's bed." It was a whole sentence! I guess only a Mom could get excited about that.
Yesterday Madison came in crying saying that Porter had bit her. I told Porter to come here. He came in the room and I said, "Did you bite Madison?" He said, "Yaaas." (His version of Yes.) I told him he had to go to time out in his room for a long time. I sent him to his room. He happily bounded in there. After getting the baby put down I went in to talk to him. I said, "Porter, why did you bite your sister?" He said, "Because Madi bit me." I said, "Where?" He showed me. I said, "Madison, get in here!" When I asked her about it, she looked away very guilty. I said, Madison those are your teeth marks. Anyway, they both got in trouble. I thought it was interesting that Porter willingly took his punishment without telling on Madison.

Class Reunion
BACK ROW: (l to r) Paul Lamb (Class of 92), Keola Bandmann, Brian Sharp, Travis Cripps, Matt Parry, Jeremy Thatcher, President Bryson Jones, George Vest (Class of 87), Travis Pierce, Mike Jones, and David Grygla. FRONT ROW: (l to r) Annie Lamb (Class of 89), Ronaleee Lamb, Cajsa Bandmann (Class of 89), Tanya Cheff, Lisa Hamilton, Jan Gardner, Elizabeth Lane, and Amy Larson.
Wow! We had a blast to the past over Fourth of July weekend with our class reunion. Everyone was the same as 20 years ago. Amazing how we were able to travel back in time like no time had passed at all. We had a great time catching up and seeing what everyone was up to 20 years later. This picture is of our seminary class of 88. Sherri Harris and Shannon Damron were not there because they were busy setting up for the evening dinner.
